Scope & Content On Reading the Twelfth Chapter of St. John

Ye who read your Bible daily
Christian men, or would be such;
Striving for the great distinction,
Of gaining riches, over much;

Sunken to the scale of mammon,
While the spirit starveth near;
Sell the oil and fill the treasure
Better this, than woman's tear

By the sordid, this was spoken,
Is it not he same today;
Too expensive such affection
And woman turns her soul away.

Who knows better than the Savior
The deep domains of woman's heart;
He can read it with approval
But man prefers the public mart.

Go thy way, where idols greet thee,
Diviner love doth woman crave;
She will find it in repentance,
And man's may follow, at her grave
