My dear Sir,
I. am delighted that you are to have my nephew, Thos. S. Seabury, for your Secretary and aid.
-I hope he will do honor to your judgment in selecting him,--I will thank you to urge upon him (if it is necessary) the importance of industry.-You are just, the man to drill him rightly in the path of duty to his God-himself-his commander -and his Country
-Thomas left this morning for, your quarters at Erie-he was detained on account of his clothes, from starting earlier.
