My dear Daisy
I am thankful to say the sale
has taken place and I am enclosing Mr. Darling's statement. I was a little surprised that Charles
Archdeacon had an extra six teeth for he has certainly managed to obtain for himself all of
your Aunt's money already; I suppose that it comes in this way; Your Uncle Tom gave every
thing to Your Aunt Elizabeth who passed it on to your Aunt Evelina and she gave all of it to Charles Archdeacon.
Please do not for a moment think of paying me for my- small services; It has been a very great source of pleasure to me that I could be of some use to you , and that is all the compensation that I am willing to accept, except if you have a good picture of yourself it would give me great pleasure to receive it
Please remember that should you ever wish to come East it will very great pleasure to us if you would make our house your home for as long a time as you may wish, and the longer the better.
Please also remember that I am getting old and letters from my friends are a real boon to me; write me like an old friend a real chatty letter; the more personal the better
Affectionately yours
(Signed) Selah B. Strong
that you might have no trouble I am sending you a draft on San Francisco
