Your friendly letter inviting me to furnish a sketch of my life etc is at hand. In the first place I am half sick with a cold, besides I am busily engaged finishing some portraits which leaves me very little time to collect matter concerning myself.
I had rather remain in the shade awhile longer as I can look around and see the bright spots with much more pleasure; therefore, I had rather you would not think of me as a subject for your work at present.
Your choise of company for me (Elliott) I am pleased with-I consider him rising rapidly in his profession.
Yours very truly,
Wm. S. Mount.
