SIR:
The Thirty - First Annual Exhibition of the National Academy, will be held at No. 548 Broadway,-the Gallery in front of Mr. Chapin's Church.
Pictures will be received from Saturday, March 1st, to Thursday, the 6th. Under no circumstances will any work be admitted after the 6th. Artists out of the City will send their cases so that they nay arrive between the lst and 6th of March, marked "NATIONAL ACADEMY OF DESIGN 548 Broadway, New York
The List of the Works which you may be pleased to exhibit, (with the particular. required by the annexed blank,) should be sent to undersigned, University; NEW-YORK, before the 1st of March, and a card, carefully and clearly written should be attached to the contribution-with its title, the name and residence of the Artist, the name of the Possessor, and the price-if for sale.
It is hoped, that you will name the earliest moment for the porters to call for your Works, so that the usual hurry during the last days of the reception may be avoided.
The Galleries will be open to Artist Exhibitors only-to varnish their Pictures-on Thursday, March 13th, from 10 A.M to 4 P.M.
On the following day, Friday, the 14th, the Public Exhibition will commence, and will continiue until the end of April.
The Works of Living Artists only are eligible. ORIGINAL PAINTINGS, SCULPTURES, ARCHITECTURAL DESIGNS or MODELS and ENGRAVINGS, which have never before been exhibited in the City of New York.
Pictures and Frames must in all cases be sent together; and MINIATURES must be in frames, (not in lockets only) and under glass.
Th. Academy will bear the expenses of porterage, or of transportation and retransportation of the Works of Artists, to whom this circular is addressed.
