My, intention was when I left home to have written you as soon as we arrived here but the fatigue of the journey put it out of my head - We got in Owego on friday night-Cousin Joseph was there to take us down in his own conveyance --The ride was delightful, we enjoyed it much having been refreshed from a good nights sleep -The shores of the Susquehannah looked familiar to my eyes-and. her clustering green Islands -were gladning to my heart.
Sheppy and Joshua have just recovered from bad colds-and little Ruth is suffering from the same cause are have been much broke of our rest in consequence We were warmly received by all -and have every thing done for our comfort - My painting materials have arrived. In a day or so shall commence painting a little--Elizabeths health I thing is now beginning to improve -
We found Mr. Hepburn and Wife here they have now started upon a journey to the far west-Stephen Hopkins has returned from sea-has been in Spain-France-and England - attended the Royal Exhibition of paintings in London promises me a look at the Catologue
Henry looks well-uncommonly so -like another boy-Is handy and quick in the discharge of his duties as clerk-is contented and happy -
Mr. Fordham has a new store and every thing in it looks in order.
All the cousins are well I write in haste-have an invitation out to take tea-must be off-so farewell for the present
