I have received your letter of the 22nd inst with a request that I shall paint you a picture to match the one I painted for you. It will afford me pleasure to paint you a picture sometime during the season.
I should like to have a picture for you in time for the Spring Exhibition but I am afraid the time is too short to do justice to any group I might take in hand at this late hour, besides I am at present painting a picture (an out of doors scene etc) which will take a good deal of my time.
I might possibly paint you an interior with a single figure, in time, that perhaps might please you.
