I received a visit from Ex-President Duer a few days since, who made a suggestion with regard to your full length of Bishop B. T. Onderdonk that perhaps I ought to communicate to you. As the Trustees never paid for the picture it remains still your property, unless you have at any time made a donation of it. He seemed to think Trinity Church might buy it, and I know of no good place for it in the Vestry Room of the Church. Would the Theological Seminary purchase it? It is well where it is; if you could dispose of it to advantage, and perhaps some years hence after the Bishop's death, when the concerned feelings of party will have died away, it may sell to much better advantage. I merely drop these hints.
Look in upon me when you come to College, the library hours are 1-3 Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. Pray give my remembrance to Mr. and Mrs. Seabury, your nephews, nieces, your brother's family and all the pleasant acquaintances I made during my agreeable visit to Stoney Brook three (?) summers since.
I hope to be able to accept one of the many
kind invitations I have received from your friends and spend two or three days with you this summer in company with my wife.
Meanwhile I remain, yours very truly
W. A. Jones
