My Dear Sir,
After so long a delay, 1 have this morning received for you, from the Patent Office a Patent for your improvement in Violins- It is all right- Exactly according to your application. Supposing that you may be in town soon, I retain it for you in my office, especially it is on heavy parchment, and it is not worth while to pay postage if you are soon to be here. But if you wish me to send it to you, say so and I will do it.
Yours very truly,
Francis H. Upton
